Hello and welcome. From a young age, I was always interested in how the mind works, what drives people to behave the way they do, and how we relate to one another. I believe it's important to collaborate with my clients to figure out what works best for them. Some clients prefer a more structured approach involving therapeutic exercises, homework assignments, and ways to measure their progress toward specific goals. Other clients prefer a looser, more intuitive approach where we practice mindfulness-based techniques and address how thoughts and emotions are affecting them physically. Regardless of the approach, I am here to provide a safe space for you to make positive changes, problem solve through life difficulties, navigate painful feelings, feel understood, and either fine tune current coping skills or learn completely new ones so you can move into the next chapter of your life.
I have worked with children, teens, adults, and elderly treating:
I believe many difficulties can be tied back to the way our thoughts and feelings developed as a result of the family that raised us. I have always been fascinated with how our family system shapes us. So as your therapist, I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Internal Family Systems mixed with your family history (i.e. who raised you, what it was like growing up, etc.) to help you understand how and why you show up the way you do with yourself and in your relationships. Many of our patterns and habits are shaped by how we grew up so when we take a deeper look at this, we can understand why we are the way we are.
However, if you are not interested in looking at how your family system impacted you, I will adjust my approach to best support your growth and create a treatment plan that combines your life experiences, cultural background, and personality. If you are interested in using your childhood experiences as a mirror into your treatment, we will do a deep dive. YOU get to decide. I will also support you in learning and practicing cognitive behavioral skills to help you identify unhelpful thought patterns that are getting in the way of your freedom and happiness. If we are meeting for couples or family sessions, I tailor this to meet the needs of the couple or family unit.
I started Healthy Human Minds because I wanted to create a safe space for people to look at their relationships, thoughts, feelings, and behaviors with the support of a one-on-one professional therapist helping along the way. Together we can find out what Healthy looks like for you and create a plan to attain it.
I often combine treatment types to meet client's unique needs. These include:
I offer online tele-health therapy where you can gain access to mental health services in the comfort of your home using online platforms.
I will support & guide you through the process of growth in therapy whether you are in need of one-on-one individual therapy, couples' sessions, parent support, children's therapy or family therapy. We will work together to help you:
